How can I see the 6 letters in my Authenticator app in order to log back into my email account.

I was logged out of my email as I now have a new phone. When I open my Authenticator app, it doesn’t show me the 6 letters that I would have to put in my verification and so I can’t use my email or my teams app. It says that if I can’t see the letters, that I need to update the app, but I have updated it.
