Mixed OS WSUS implementation

Hi Gents

I have a task where we will upgrade the existing downstream WSUS from Windows Server 2016 to Windows Server 2022. we should synchronize the new downstream configured on the new Windows OS to the existing upstream installed in the DMZ on Windows Server 2016.

my question here is, Do we have any integration issues between the old WSUS version installed on Windows Server 2016 & New one installed on Windows Server 2022

Exisitng upstream version is on Windows Server 2016 Upstream WSUS version: 10.0.14393.5127

New Downstream Server is on Windows Server 2022 Downstream WSUS version 10.0.20348.2340

    Microsoft's recommendation is to always use the latest OS as the 'upstream'. Downstreams are fine being different OS's. That being said - it should work with a 2016 box as the upstream and a 2022 box as the downstream - but you'll want to also plan to upgrade that server too.

    Are you doing an in-place upgrade of the 2016 box?
