I am using Microsoft office professional plus 2019.

I want to link a table in excel to a PPT slide so that when I update the data in excel, the data in PPT updates automatically.

But, in PPT after choosing Paste (Home menu) > Paste Special> Paste link > Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object and when I press OK button nothing

gets pasted onto the slide. The slide is empty and there is no table data pasted.

I tried in word and it works. The problem is only with PPT.

I tried Paste (Home menu) > Paste Special> Paste link > Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object + Display as Icon checkbox selected. It inserts a excel icon in PPT slide and when I click the icon, it navigates to respective Excel sheet automatically. But I want to display the actual excel table data and not just the icon.

  1. I tried Insert > Object > Create from file and it works. But it links the entire excel sheet and not just few cells or tables i want.Paste Link Not Working

We are having the same issue here where I work as well.

This is affecting both Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs in our environment with varying Windows update version numbers.

    Office 2019 Versions:

    Broken Version 1808 (Build 10412.20006)

    Working Version 1808 (Build 10411.20011)

    Hi,

Where did you save the Excel Workbook?

Did this problem appear in all Excel Workbooks?

What kind of file format did you use?

I suggest you try to create a new Workbook in desktop with simple data and then open the saved Workbook and copy and paste the Range in PowerPoint.

If this problem only appear in specific Workbook, please check the Excel file format, make sure you're using .xlsx file.

Then remove all password or permission for authentication in Excel Workbook.

Just checking in to see if the information was helpful. Please let us know if you would like further assistance.
