AVD Host Pool: Users Can't Access RemoteApps from Their Desktops

In our AVD Host Pool, users assigned to both Desktop and RemoteApp are unable to see RemoteApps in their Remote Desktop app after enforcing the "Preferred application group type" selection. Although the app disks are mounted on the session host and installed in the Windows app folder, they aren't registered to the desktop users. Why can't desktop users access RemoteApps from their desktops?

Could you give us a bit more info about the settings of your AVD infrastructure?

How is the application group type assigned? - to a single host? If yes desktop or RemoteApps?

I understand you enforced Remote App via the "Preferred application group type" setting.

Could tell us which of the listed scenarios matches your environment?

Host Pool Preferred App group type is set to Desktop. We were not aware of this change and what happened with us all of a sudden RemoteApp disappeared from RemoteDesktop App because of this enforcement. We are using MSIX app attach on this host pool, where user have both desktop and remoteapps are assigned to them. It was all working until this change. Now my question is even in this scenario. The desktop user should see a remote app installed on their AVD machine or am I wrong?

App registration type

Application Group type RemoteApp For eg. User has both Desktop and RemoteApps are assigned to them. Prefered App Group type is set to Desktop. So user only see Desktop in Remote Desktop App. When they login in their AVD should RemoteApp will appear in their AVD? If not what changes are required to make the same app appear in user's AVD Desktop. Before this enforcement users used to RemoteApp in their AVD Desktop and also as RemoteApp in Remote Desktop.

Ok thanks for the info.
With your additional info, you can try it like so:

1.) Leave the settings in the host pool as it is.

1.1) Create an additional host pool and set there the preferred app group type to remote apps

2.) Create a application group for desktop and remote app (so one for each)

2.2.) Add the application groups to the matching host pools.

3.) Add the users who should have access for both into desktop and remote app group

4.) Add the users who should ONLY see desktop OR remote Apps in the remote desktop client to the specific app group (like for desktop or remote app)

With this scenario, the users should be able to see both in the remote desktop apps (client)

What you want is not possible without multiple host pools.

Please give me a short feedback if it solves your problem. So I can set it as a solution in the thread and you can accept it.

I do have the same issue..Users are not seeing bot Remote Apps and Desktop, did Microsoft messed up the Azure AVD portal?
