How to retrieve missing Teams chat history from before the "new Teams"?

Dear all,

I am the Administrator of my company. We have returned from a project using specific project mail addresses and now realized that all our company chats have disappeared in both the new teams and browser version of teams. How can I best restore or retrieve the history of the missing teams chats?

If your company uses Microsoft 365, you can use the Compliance Center to search for and recover emails, chat history, and other data.

• Go to the Microsoft 365 Compliance Center.
• Use the Content Search feature to search for Teams chats by specific users or keywords.
