When im trying to install SQL Server 2022 (developer 16.x) error occurs related to setup.exe
I already tried to disable UAC, Windows Firewall and defender, fully uninstall SQL Server, clean registry and reinstall but got the same error.
When im trying to repair SQL Server via install center app i get error: SQL Server component 'SQL_Engine_Core_Inst' is in a non-recoverable state because its configuration did not complete successfully. Code: 0x84B40002

Erland Sommarskog 112.7K Reputation points MVP2024-07-26T13:17:44.8166667+00:00 In the folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\160\Setup Bootstrap\Log there is one folder per installation attempt. I think the actual installation attempts are more interesting than the repair. The file of most interest beside summary.txt is detail.txt.
