This can occur due to several reasons. There is currently no way to determine the specific cause. It is recommended that you perform troubleshooting to narrow down the scope of the problem.
1, The use of the "Allow Multiple Values" option for the Managed Metadata column. When this option is enabled, the filter values may become duplicated, causing the corruption. Try to disable the "Allow Multiple Values" option for the Managed Metadata column if it's not necessary. Then see if the situation still occurs.
2, The use of special characters in the term set labels, which can also cause the filter values to become corrupted. It's recommended to avoid using special characters in the term set labels.
3, SharePoint caches metadata information, and sometimes this cache can become outdated or corrupted. Clearing the cache might help resolve the issue temporarily.
