Recently purchased a new Macbook and trying to use Microsoft Office.Signed in on Office.com and downloaded Office and tried to activate....

Get the error:

AADSTS500200: User account X is a personal Microsoft account. Personal Microsoft accounts are not supported for this application unless explicitly invited to an organization. Try signing out and signing back in with an organizational account.

I have purchased Microsoft 365 Personal.

    I then uninstalled Office, reinstalled it, and was able to sign in. Phew.""

    I fixed this issue by performing a "licence removal" by following the instructions here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/how-to-remove-office-license-files-on-a-mac-b032c0f6-a431-4dad-83a9-6b727c03b193

    I then uninstalled Office, reinstalled it, and was able to sign in. Phew.
