Azure Backup Failing - Internal error code: 0x80990A59

Hi all,
Azure backup is failing with this error message - Microsoft Azure Backup failed to access the shadow copy because of inadequate disk space on the volume. Internal error code: 0x80990A59.
After investigating ourselves we found articles suggesting to add more space which we have done - current folder size is 1.6TB with 700GB of free space on the VM.
Would anyone have anything else we can look at?
