SharePoint lookup field auto complete

Question

Can we make a SharePoint field which is a lookup drop down box on the editform.aspx. have the functionality so that user can type in and select from the options based on the values of the types.

I think this should be able to achieve using Jquery, please share some idea or sample code

You can build another single line text field and use the code snippet in the attachment file:
