Associate route table to Databricks Vnet subnets

We have a resource group for AVD/Domain resources and so we have a gateway to connect to local resources. We stood up a Databricks resource and need it to use the gateway from the original resource. We have an active peering network and can communicate with any resources in that resource (DC/AVD). But it wont use the gateway and connect to local resources. Recently learned that we have to also do a custom route table and I built that up. The final piece is to associate the route table to Databricks subnets and it refuses to and give me a permission denial. I have moved the route table between the two resources and no matter what it wont connect to that resource. Does not work in any way even through CLI. Any thoughts on how I can alleviete this. follwoing this guide:
