Register & scan Sharepoint on-premise in Purview Data Map

Hi,

In the question ‘Can the Microsoft Purview Data Map scan and classify emails, PDFs etc. in my SharePoint and OneDrive?’, the answer indicates that Purview Data Map does not currently support scanning of data sources such as Sharepoint. I would like to know if this is still the case today, or if there is at least an alternative way to allow Sharepoint scanning.

I need right now, register & scan an Sharepoint on-premise in the Purview Data Map, so I would like to confirm if this is possible directly or if there is a workaround to do it.

And, the reference to Supported data sources and file types, is up-to-date continuously?

It is still the case today. Currently, the Microsoft Purview Data Map doesn't support scanning SharePoint and OneDrive into the Microsoft Purview Data Catalog.

As an alternative way, you could use Microsoft Purview Information Protection scanner to scan SharePoint on-premises files.

Scanning for on-premises SharePoint sites and libraries is provided through the Microsoft Purview Information Protection scanner. The scanner is available for use through a customer's Microsoft 365 subscription with the following SKUs: AIP P1, EMS E3, and Microsoft 365 E3. If you have any one of these SKUs, you should have the right entitlements to start using the Microsoft Purview Information Protection scanner.
