We are going to submit through the Partner Center to publish Chatbot created by Copilot Studio to Teams Store inside Microsoft Teams.

When a chatbot app is submitted and listed in either Teams Apps or AppSource, and then a user installs the app on Teams to have a conversation with the Chatbot, where does the Azure cloud instance for the Chatbot reside?

As far as I know, if the document is used as the knowledge of Chatbot, it will be stored in the Dataverse of developer's tenant.

Then, where will it be located after it is distributed to Teams Store?

Hello @Chihun Oh

Thank you for your input

When a chatbot created using Microsoft 365 Copilot or similar AI services is distributed through the Teams Store and installed by users in other organizations, the message capacity and licensing rules are generally tied to the license of the user who is interacting with the bot, not the license of the developer who created and distributed it.

    Hello @Chihun Oh

    Welcome to Microsoft QnA!

when your chatbot is listed and installed from the Teams Store, the Azure cloud instance for the chatbot, along with any data it uses (such as documents in Dataverse), continues to reside in your Azure tenant. The distribution via Teams Store simply allows other users and organizations to access and interact with your bot, while the backend services and data remain under your control.

Publishing the chatbot to the Teams App Store or AppSource does not change the hosting location of the bot or its associated data. It only makes the bot available for installation by other users or organizations.

The actual chatbot service, including its logic, APIs, and any integrations, continues to reside within the Azure subscription of the developer (or the organization that developed the chatbot).
