scom snmp device GENERIC

Question

My Scom2022 discovered many network devices on the network using snmpv1 and v2, but when I checked the credentials in the content of the device node, 99% of them were GENERIC, which made it impossible to monitor CPU, RAM, LAN, etc. I would like to know how to make the credentials CERTIFIED. Assign Run As Accounts to Profiles:

• When you create a network device discovery rule, associate the appropriate Run As account with the SNMP Monitoring Account or SNMPv3 Monitoring Account profile.
• This ensures that the correct credentials are used for monitoring the devices.

• Ensure that the devices are configured to accept the specified SNMP credentials.
• Update the device configuration if necessary to match the Run As account settings in SCOM.

Run Network Device Discovery:

• Use the updated Run As accounts to run the network device discovery again.
