Windows 11 Activity History
Hi,
I wonder if it's possible to turn off the activity history for the CURRENT user only (not the machine wide).
For example, following registry keys turn off the activity history but then the currently logged in user can't enable it as these keys performed the change machine wide.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System]
"PublishUserActivities"=-
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System]
"PublishUserActivities"=dword:00000000

You can turn off the activity history for the current user only without affecting the entire machine. Here’s how you can do it through the Settings app:
- Open Settings: Press
Win + I
to open the Settings app. - Navigate to Privacy & security: Click on “Privacy & security” on the left side.
- Go to Activity history: Click on “Activity history” on the right side.
- Turn off activity history: Toggle off the option "Store my activity history on this device".
This will disable the activity history for the current user only. If you want to clear the existing activity history, you can also click the “Clear” button under the same section.
- Open Settings: Press
