Hey,

While trying to connect with a printer in my home network, l came across a system request to give network credentials. after l did and received an error prompt that the given credentials are incorrect.

l changed the network settings to enable sharing the printer on other network devices at the host side, and also in each end- computer where l tried to connect from.

Moreover, tried deleting the credentials in the credential manager altogether, but still to no avail...

l also tried connecting to the printer from another computer on the network, and still received the same prompt for credentials which wouldn't get right....

Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)

It seems like you are having trouble connecting to a printer on your home network due to incorrect network credentials. You have already tried enabling printer sharing on both the host and end-computers, deleting credentials in the credential manager, and connecting to the printer from another computer on the network, but still receive the same prompt for credentials.

One workaround to this issue is to store a trusted credential in Credential Manager. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. In Control Panel, open Credential Manager.
    2. Click Add a Windows credential.
    3. In the dialog box, enter an appropriate print server name. Then, enter a user name and password that are trusted on the print server.
    4. Click OK.

Alternatively, you can try using Workaround 1 mentioned in the article "Error message when you try to install a network printer in Windows 7: '0x0000052e'" which involves opening a Command Prompt window and typing the following command before adding the network printer:

    start \\<servername>\<printername>

Note: In this command, <servername> represents the name of the print server and <printername> represents the share name of the printer.

Hopefully, one of these workarounds will help you connect to the printer successfully.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

To further troubleshoot this issue, please kindly try below steps:

1.Open Network and Sharing Center -> Advanced Sharing Settings, try to turn off password protected sharing for all networks.

    2.Open CMD window and run

    ping printerIP command

to see if the TCP connection is okay.

3.Reproduce he issue and capture a network trace, check if there's any insight in the trace by filter printer IP and TCP.Port 443.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best regards,
