Network adapter can't work after rebooting

now "ip a" shows like this:
eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN group default qlen 1000
if I try to uplink the eth0 manually, then :
eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc mq state UP group default qlen 1000

- May I ask what exactly is the problem when you say, "Network adapter can't work"
- Did you make any changes at the OS Level?
- If so, what was that?
- Are you not able to SSH to this VM? Or this VM is not able to communicate to other resources in the VNET?

2024-08-05T08:44:06.3666667+00:00 os is ubuntu 20.04, I just did "apt-get upgrade" and rebooted the machine. The NIC of that VM can't work now after that and I can't see the IP address when I list the network status.

Can you please elaborate on the "The NIC of that VM can't work"
- If that were the case, how are you able to SSH into it?
- From a different VM in the same VNET, are you able to SSH into it? (use private IP)
- If so, that indicates that the NIC and IP configurations are indeed correct.

2024-08-05T09:08:01.0166667+00:00 I use serial console to login and check the status of the system. I have another VM on the same VNET which works properly.
And I checked the NIC and IP and didn't find any issues. I also tried to attach a new NIC, but it didn't work.
It seems that the NIC can't connect to the VNET correctly.

- Do a telnet on port 22 to the affectedVM
- Do a ping test to the affectedVM
And share the results
Additionally, follow the steps listed in : Reset the network interface for Azure Linux VM
And confirm if that helped
