Move app inisights to a different subscription (in different directory)

Question

I have an Application Insights resource with an associated Log Analytics Workspace set up in my subscription in the Microsoft directory.
As part of security wave we are deleting this subscription and moving everything to a new one. I basically have the following questions:

1. Can I move the app insights along with workspace to a new subscription in different directory, and enable my application to keep sending data here only? I do not want to lose any data stored in current app insights.
2. If first option is not possible, it leaves me with only the option to create a new app insights instance in my new subscription. How do I transfer data from previous workspace to the new one?

PS: I have already set up subscription in the other directory. I have owner access to both old and new subscriptions.

According to this documentation:

"Moving or renaming any Application Insights resource changes the resource ID. When the ID changes for a workspace-based resource, data sent for the prior ID is accessible only by querying the underlying Log Analytics workspace. The data will not be accessible from within the renamed or moved Application Insights resource."

In the same documentation, you can review whether you can move the resources between subscriptions.
