Deleting a SPO Site and using the URL again

Question

Hello everyone,

I deleted a SPO Site and I want to use the URL again.

The problem is that now I can only use the URL with a modification.

I deleted the SPO site from the active sites and from the deleted sites but the URL was still not available.

After that I tried to delete the site with the Powershell Comand Remove-SPODeletedSite -identity https://abc.sharepoint.com/sites/xyz but the URL is still not available.

Is there some other place I need to delete the site from?

Any help is appreciated!

Hi @Philipp Kretschmer,

Go to SharePoint admin center >> Sites >> Deleted sites and permanently delete that site.

After the site is permanently deleted, it might take up to 24 hours for the URL to become available.

If the URL is still unavailable after 24 hours, please let us know.
