I can't retrieve word documents what to do

I saved the files in the storage and USB, but when I want to work with them they can't be opened.

    Is there any error message? If yes, please share us with it.

    If you copy them to your local computer, will this issue persist?

    • If no, please go to Word app > File > Options > Trusted Locations > Add new location > Add the pathe of these documents.
      If these files can be trusted, please also go to Protected View > Uncheck the box of "Enable protected view for files located in potentially unsafe location" temporarily.
      Please also make sure your storage and USB is not blocked via security software, you may disable or quit the antivirus software to check this issue.
    • If yes, could you please open it on other computers for a test?
      Besides, please right click thise documents > Propertities > Click Unblock on the General tab if there is. Then click OK.

    Which type of USB storage have you been using? Note that USB sticks may be very unsafe. It is a lot safer to save on the local drive. You can still copy files to a USB stick when you want to move them, of course.
