Is low-priority compute cluster being retired in Azure ML like in Batch service?

I'm interested in using low-priority VMs with Azure ML, but I saw that low-priority VMs are being retired in 2025 for Batch service (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/batch/batch-spot-vms): "Low-priority VMs will be retired after 30 September 2025. Please migrate to Spot VMs in Batch before then.".
I'm not sure if this affects Azure ML Compute Cluster too, or if low-priority will be replaced with Spot and still be easy to set up. I looked through Azure documentation and couldn't find any information about this. Can someone provide clarification and any guarantees about low-priority use in Azure ML? I don't want to use a legacy feature for production workloads.

    Hi @Dalius Žukauskas,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum!

The low-priority VMs in Azure Batch will be retired on September 30, 2025. You should migrate to Spot VMs, which offer similar benefits and are not affected by this deprecation. Spot VMs will continue to be supported and provide discounted pricing with potential preemption. To transition, update your Batch pools to use Spot-based compute nodes instead of low-priority VMs.I hope this information helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
