Hi,

I'm new to "Dynamics 365 Business Central", and one of our client is asking they have "Dynamics 365 Business Central" licenses, but they want to have a integration to automate user provisioning.

So if I provision users through MS Entra ID, will there be additional cost for the client to buy Entra ID licenses?

When it comes to integrating Microsoft Entra ID (formerly known as Azure Active Directory) with Dynamics 365 Business Central for user provisioning, here are some key points:

    1. Dynamics 365 Business Central Licenses:
      • These licenses usually include basic integration with Microsoft Entra ID for authentication and user management. This means that users who have a Dynamics 365 Business Central license can be managed through Entra ID.
    2. Microsoft Entra ID Free vs. Premium:
      • Microsoft Entra ID comes in different tiers: Free, P1, and P2.
        • The Free tier generally covers basic user management, including adding users, assigning roles, and integrating with applications like Dynamics 365.
          • However, advanced features such as automated user provisioning to third-party applications, Conditional Access, and self-service password reset may require a Premium P1 or P2 license.
    3. Additional Costs:
      • If your client only needs basic user provisioning (e.g., creating, updating, and disabling users in Dynamics 365 Business Central), they likely won't need additional Entra ID licenses beyond what's included with their Dynamics 365 Business Central subscription.
      • If your client wants to implement more advanced features that fall under Entra ID Premium, they would need to purchase additional licenses (P1 or P2) for those specific features.

In summary, for basic user provisioning, there should not be additional costs beyond the existing Dynamics 365 Business Central licenses. However, if advanced features are needed, additional Entra ID licenses may be required. It would be good to review the specific needs and determine if any advanced features are necessary.
