GetAppAndOptionalStorePackageUpdatesAsync 0x80070002 "The system cannot find the file specified."
GetAppAndOptionalStorePackageUpdatesAsync now causing an error 0x80070002 "The system cannot find the file specified." on a UWP app I have in the Store.
I've had similar problems with a LOB app, and gave up on that. Now, it seems the same issue is cropping up on non-LOB apps in the last two weeks. It's worked for years.
I can't get help from Microsoft/Partner Center.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!
Could you please share more information about the error?
There might be some information in the event viewer as well. Please go to Event Viewer -> Applications and Services Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Apps -> Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational and check the log to see if there are any information about an error or exception. You could check the description and possible causes based on the error ID in the troubleshooting documents for some common errors:
Troubleshooting packaging, deployment, and query of Windows apps
Thank you.

2024-08-31T19:59:52.5233333+00:00 Additional information: The error currently occurs on a device running the app in Kiosk mode. I just tried running the same app on a regular account on a different machine and it seems to run without error. I'll try to look at the event viewer on the kiosk machine soon and provide feedback here if there are any errors associate.

2024-08-31T20:04:05.03+00:00 Wow. Replying on this site is very risky. I just typed up a lengthy response only to be gone after clicking "Add comment".Anyway, my response:
The error is happening on a device that runs the app in a Kiosk account. I just tried the app on a different machine on a non-Kiosk account and the error doesn't come up. I will try to look at the Event logs on the kiosk machine and see if there's an entry about the error.
Should I expect an entry there if the exception is being handled in my app?

2024-08-31T21:32:24.8666667+00:00 I did some more debugging. I disable Kiosk mode for the account and logged in. No entries in Event Viewer.
Launched the UWP app and the error was displayed. I closed the app. I noticed the Store app had my MSA signed in. I signed out and signed back into the Store app. Launched the UWP app and error did not display. I signed out completely out of the Store app. Relaunched the UWP app and error did not display. I'm now back to Kiosk mode and the UWP app is now working as expected.
My guess is it had to do with the Store app and the MSA account being in a weird state. I really wish there's more info Microsoft can provide based on the info I've provided above.

2024-09-03T09:16:44.6633333+00:00 Hi @Carlo Mendoza ,
Glad your problem was solved, this should be a problem with the Store. Someone has submitted this issue to the store team before, but it seems that it has not been resolved yet. https://github.com/microsoft/Windows-Dev-Performance/issues/22#issuecomment-678601648.
But I can't reproduce your problem and find the cause for you. I'd suggest you submit a feedback request about this API in the Feedback Hub. You could find the Feedback Hub in the Start Menu. Please select Developer Platform->API Feedback as the category when you submit your request. The related team will check the request. After you submit the request, please share your link, I will help you submit this request as well.Thank you.

2024-09-04T03:30:37.7266667+00:00 @Junjie Zhu - MSFT Yes. That's also my post. It's so difficult to get the attention of the right people about this. Are these people even real? They might as well be ghosts.

2024-09-04T05:16:07.1933333+00:00 Why are replies here so broken on this site?
That post you referenced is also reported by me. It's so hard to get the right people at Microsoft to see these feedback or posts. Are there real people looking at these?
