is the virtual ip used in on-premises data center say for instance given by AIX comparable with a Azure VIP . Are these VIP having same properties and usage in on-premises and azure cloud. Please let me know if there is any difference. From when did Azure have VIP , I Was working on a project in azure 2018 where i was told azure only has the floating ip concepts and no vip concept in cloud, kindly let me know.

    @Sakthiprabhu Rajarethinam

    In AIX, virtual IP is used to assign an IP address to a group of network interfaces for redundancy at the interface level as given here in this document. Azure does not have the concept of virtual IPs nor assigning a single IP to multiple Interfaces. Azure only has Public and Private IP addresses which are assigned to a single network interface. However, you can assign multiple IPs to a single Network Interface.You can also have multiple NICs on a single VM in Azure Cloud but not assigning a single IP to multiple Interfaces as with AIX VIP.

    Please let me know if you have any other questions/concerns and we will be glad to assist further. Thank you!
