I RDP into my Azure Windows 10 virtual machine, then I connect to a VPN while inside of the VM (viewing and doing this over RDP). The VPN connection initiated inside my VM is successful, but then this causes my RDP session and viewer to terminate.

    Hi @Sandeep jain ,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform. Thank you for reaching out & hope you are doing well.

We understand that your RDP session is being terminated after successfully connecting to VPN. Here are the few possible steps you can go through.

    1. Could you please let us know what kind of a VPN you have configured? and could you provide a rough network diagram of your setup so that we can get a better idea of what you are trying to implement?
    2. Please ensure the VPN configuration is correct and verify that the IP ranges for the VPN and VM are not identical.
    3. If you are utilizing a firewall, there is a possibility that its settings or security policies may disrupt the RDP session.
    4. Verify the Windows Firewall & Enhanced Security Configuration is turned on in Local server of Server Manager.
    5. When a VM connects to a VPN it can affect the routing which in turn can cause RDP session to fail, so please perform a packet capture on the VM and local machine and check for any errors for RDP packets.

Kindly let us know if the above helps or you need further assistance on this issue. If the answer is helpful, please click "Accept Answer" and "Upvote it."
