"We don't support that country code. Use an email instead."

I wanted to redeem something in microsoft rewards, except I'm using a different account.. They asked me to put my phone number and I did as it said, but it says that they don't support the country code (+971) UAE. Even though I did it a lot of times before in a different account with the UAE country code. The number i added currently is different from that other account, so i don't think that's the problem.

Dear today i face 1 issue when i forget password then hotmail not given support on mobile and direct support on email and same email address received code from hotmail and when i create new email and when i given mobile number for recovery password security then show like this. 《 We don't support that country code. Add an email instead.》 What is the issue i not understand please can you reply me . Thank you

You can do it via Skype.

Start Skype

click on you picture upper left to open the drop down menu

under MANAGE click on "Skype profile", it will open your profile

click on Mobile and enter the phone number

it will send you a code, confirm the code

log into you Microsoft account and you'll see that the phone number has been added

Skype just retired, after Skype retired i can no longer redeem my rewards, what do i do :(

Unfortunately Skype has been terminated since May 2025. This frustrating issue with Microsoft is so bad, it should be an easy fix. Bots or whatever are replying are trying to blame it on carrier issues, but it seems like a worldwide problem. Just search and there's countless questions about it. This is Microsoft we're talking about. Can't fix a simple issue! It's not about VPN or clearing cache! It's a problem on your systems!
