Hello

Please i need your help on this issue.

One Sharepoint Site was updated on the 8th August and the majority of files were deleted (folder structure remains). It seems there was a OneDrive Sync with my account which caused the folder structure to remain, but all files to be deleted in specific folders.

The files are not available in the recycling bin. I have tried to restore the library to Wednesday 7th August for this SharePoint, but there is no option available under the SharePoint settings.

Please follow below tips to troubleshoot the issue.

1.Only site admin can start a restore for document library. Make sure you use site admin account to access the document library.

2.Go to Site contents -> Recycle bin -> Check whether deleted files are in the recycle bin.

3.If deleted files are not in the recycle bin, go to the Second-stage recycle bin, check whether deleted files are in the Second-stage recycle bin.

4.When you use the modern SharePoint experience, you can directly to the Restore this Library page by going to: https://tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/sitename/libraryname/Forms/AllItems.aspx?p=18

Note: Deleted files can’t be restored after they’ve been removed from the Second-stage recycle bin—either by manual delete or by emptying the recycle bin.

The link shared above appears to be the only way to access the function to restore an entire library in case of disaster. Why it's so hidden I don't know... It's a very useful feature if a client laptop gets ransomware on it and you need to quickly restore a library.
