Power BI desktop on MacBook Pro

Question

I am currently participating in the Power BI data analyst certification training and cannot figure out how to download Power BI desktop onto my MacBook Pro. Are there any suggestions for how to complete the course using a Mac?

Unfortunately, Power BI Desktop is not available for macOS. However, there are a few alternative options you can consider completing your Power BI certification training on your MacBook Pro:

1. Use a Virtual Machine: You can run Windows on your MacBook Pro using virtualization software like Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion, or VirtualBox. After setting up Windows, you can download and install Power BI Desktop as you would on a Windows PC.
2. Boot Camp: Apple’s Boot Camp allows you to install Windows alongside macOS on your MacBook Pro. You can boot into Windows and then install Power BI Desktop. This method requires restarting your computer to switch between macOS and Windows.
3. Remote Desktop: If you have access to a Windows machine remotely (like through a corporate network or cloud-based Windows service), you can use Remote Desktop software to connect to that machine and use Power BI Desktop.
4. Power BI Service: As an alternative, you can use the Power BI service available through a web browser. While this doesn’t offer all the functionalities of Power BI Desktop, it allows you to create and share reports and dashboards online.
