Microsoft E5 License

When I assign an E5 license to a user and I get the drop down with the apps I can select.

Do I need to assign the below to the end user? What access does it give them if I do assign them things like Information Protection for Office 365 Premium? If I don't select them, what difference does it make?
Microsoft

There is nothing I can find online describing what toggling the options on or off does.

TIA

    Hello Angus Baumgardt,

    Thanks for your question.

You don't necessarily need to assign all of these to every end user. The selection depends on the user's role and needs within your organization. For example if you do not want a user to have a certain feature you can uncheck it.

Information Protection for Office 365 Premium gives access to advanced data protection and governance features. like data classification, advanced message encryption, and rights management capabilities.
