Using Authenticator to validate OneDrive Access

Question

In recent memory when using OneDrive I have used the option where a code is sent to the Authenticator on my phone. I pick the right number and I have access. After someone tried repeatedly to access my account recently I updated my security. Now I cannot use the number method. My Authenticator gives me an error message...Error Unrecognised. I can still access my account. It accepts the password then the two factor id from my phone. I am using an Android Pixel.
