RDS published app not showing up in web access

We have RDS published app deployment in a development setting for about a year. I have historically not been involved in this deployment, and am only now bringing it under my purview.

I wanted to publish a new app. I installed the app on the host servers, published the app as a remoteapp program, and it showed up the RDS web interface. I successfully launched the app.

This app will be restricted to a certain subset of test users. To accomplish this, I created a new security group and added myself to it, edited the published app, and set the User Assignment to "only specified users and groups", adding this security group to it.

Upon saving the settings the icon disappeared from the RDS web page. The .RDP file I downloaded from before still works, but the icon on the page is gone.

I did try adding the security group to the properties of the collection itself (which I thought wasn't needed since my account is in Domain Users which is already there), but that didn't do the trick. I've also added my account explicitly in both locations, but still no joy.

What else should I be looking at? This is the first restricted app in this deployment so I don't have any other apps to compare my settings to. Thanks.

    Hello,

First, you could switch your browser or press F5 to force a refresh of your page (or use private mode).

If the icon is still not visible, try the following:

    Navigate to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server\CentralPublishedResources\PublishedFarms{collection-name}\RemoteDesktops{collection-name}.

Then locate the ShowInPortal value and change it to 1.
