Can Office365 (or any other version) access files directly from Google Drive?

We use Google Workspace (including personal My Drives and Shared Drives) for our file storage, and also the Microsoft Office Suite. Office can directly access files in One Drive and Dropbox, but is there a way to directly access files stored in Google? If so, which version(s) can do this?

One thing I know we can do is create a local sync of the Drive files and have Office access these as a locally mapped drive, but wondering if there's any way to access directly from the cloud.

    is there a way to open/save files directly into Google Drive in the cloud?

    Yes, looks like it.
    With real time presence for Office files, multiple team members can work on the same file without worrying about version control issues.

    @Bill Magaliff
    If you want to add a place of cloud storage option for Google Drive in Microsoft 365 apps, I would like to suggest you submit this requirements to Office 365 UserVoice forums. This requirement is not yet available.

    Or you could also upvote this thread "Add other cloud storage options such as Box, Dropbox, Google Drive as an online service location or allow us to add it" as I did.

    Thanks for your understanding.
