In Microsoft Purview, deleting a data source doesn’t automatically remove the associated assets from the catalog. You’ll need to manually delete them.
Here are a few steps you can try:
- Manual Deletion: If you have the data curator role, you can manually delete assets by selecting the delete icon under the asset’s name. However, this might not be practical for a large number of assets.
- Bulk Deletion via API: You can use the Microsoft Purview Atlas APIs to delete multiple assets at once. This might be more efficient given the large number of assets you need to remove.
- Full Scan: Running a full scan on the source from which the assets were ingested can help update the catalog and remove assets that no longer exist in the source
