CS0103:The name 'ViewBag' does not exist in the current context
same issue showing on every html control like @Html.DropDownListFor(), @Html.ValidationMessageFor etc.
Please resolve the issue.

Which version of VS are you using? Is the project you created an ASP.NET MVC 5 project?
Check the MVC version in View web.config.
You can try restarting Visual Studio or cleaning the solution and try rebuilding it to see if it works.
Are you using Razor Pages? Razor Pages do not support ViewBag.

Has the issue been fixed? I came across the same problem, and it only got resolved after I updated my Visual Studio. There was an update available, so I went ahead and did that.
