Hello,
Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the search icon on your taskbar. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1.Try restarting Windows Explorer:
Press "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" to open Task Manager.
Find "Windows Explorer" in the "Processes" tab.
Right-click "Windows Explorer" and select "Restart".
2.Rebuild the search index:
Go to "Settings" > "Search" > "Search Windows".
Scroll down and click "Advanced Search Indexer Settings".
In the "Indexing Options" window, click "Advanced".
Under the "Index Settings" tab, click "Rebuild".
- Run the Search and Indexing troubleshooter:
Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot".
Select "Additional troubleshooters".
Find and run the "Search and Indexing" troubleshooter.
4.Run DISM and SFC Tools:
Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
Run the following commands one by one:
- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- sfc /scannow
5.Create a New User Account:
Sometimes, creating a new user account can help if the issue is specific to your current profile:
Go to Settings
> Accounts
> Family & other users
.
Click Add someone else to this PC
and follow the instructions.
If none of these methods resolve the issue and you are certain that the problem started after installing the latest updates, you can uninstall those updates as a last resort:
1. Go to Settings
> Update & Security
> Windows Update
.
2. Click on View update history
.
3. Click on Uninstall updates
.
4. Select the update you want to remove and click Uninstall
.
I hope the information above is helpful.
Best Regards,
Yanhong Liu
