Should I delete it or will it harm my pc. When I am opening and closing the chrome the storage is increasing and also scoped_dir is also on programme files x86

Anything in the Temp directory can be deleted, they are temp files. However many of them are likely being actively used so some you may not be able to delete. Furthermore some files may contain logs of setups that could be useful for debugging installation issues. But in general anything in the temp (yours or Windows) can be removed. A quick google indicates that Opera may generate these temp directories. You might be able to look inside them to see if you can tell but deleting them should be fine. Properly built apps should clean up their temp files anyway.

My C drive storage is getting full and when I checked it with Treesize software it shows that in C:/Windows/Temp a file named scoped_dir is creating

There are also some scoped_dir file in programme filesx86. Can I delete them?

In general no. Users don't have write permissions to that folder structure so programs can safely store data there at installation, but not while running unless they have admin privileges. If you notice these folders are being created periodically then perhaps they are part of an auto installer and you might be able to clean up the old ones.

I would say no, don't delete anything in Program Files. Are you running Selenium or something? If so then you might be able to delete it. You should post in their forums to see if it is OK.

I am running just a basic pc with windows 10 pro and Intel core i5 and 6 gb ram, no graphics card The scoped_dir file is taking over 20 gb

Then look in the directory to see what files are there. That will most likely tell you the app that is creating them. If not then you'd need to use a file monitoring tool. Irrelevant temp directory folders can be removed. Probably any "old" folders under Program Files could also be removed.

Sounds like something is running Selenium on your machine then. Chrome doesn't generate those folders on its own. You can probably delete them but they will likely return.
