The error is due to an unmanaged AAD tenant issue. Follow these steps to sign up:
- Open an InPrivate session in Internet Explorer and visit https://imagine.microsoft.com/azure.
- Log in with your Microsoft Personal Account. If you don’t have one, create it at http://signup.live.com.
- Complete the verification using your Microsoft School Account address or activation code.
- Continue activating the Azure plan with your Microsoft Personal Account.
These steps should work even if you’ve previously tried signing up with your Microsoft School Account and encountered the viral tenant error.
The error might also occur if your educational institution is not recognized or partnered with Microsoft. Alternatively, your school admin might not have granted you access to register for Azure for Students. For more details, check the FAQ page or reach out to your school admin.
