Error: dotnet validation failed, an unexpected error occurred No receiver was found for topic xvs/idb/initialize-dotnet-sdk

Question

I got this error when I tried to pair Visual Studio Community 2022 (64-bit) - Preview Version 17.12.0 Preview 1.0 to my iMac:

The connection cannot continue because the remote iOS SDK was not found or is corrupted. If the issue persists, please try removing the ~/Library/Caches/Xamarin/XMA/SDKs/dotnet/ folder on the Mac and try again

Then I deleted the dotnet folder on my iMac and I tried again to pair my iMac.

But now I always get the following error:

dotnet validation failed, an unexpected error occurred No receiver was found for topic xvs/idb/initialize-dotnet-sdk

Why is it not possible to pair my iMac in Visual Studio?

I use macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 and Xcode version 15.4.

Hello,

please try removing the ~/Library/Caches/Xamarin/XMA/SDKs/dotnet/ folder on the Mac and try again

And try removing the %localappdata%\Temp\Xamarin\XMA folder on your Windows machine.

After that, you could quit VS, reopen it and pair again.
