Windows 2003 64bit edition converted to Vhd and configured in hyper-v windows 2012 server.

  1. Unable to connect to external network. ( 192.168.X.X )
  2. Is windows 2003 server in-built network controller is required to be configured ? By default, its not enabled or configured.
As i understand, hyper-v network controller can communicate with physical adapter.

May need to install hyper-v integration services (vmguest.iso)

    Hi,
Here is the link about Supported Windows Guest Operating Systems for Hyper-V in Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2012-R2-and-2012/dn792028(v=ws.11)
As the article states, if your VM is Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 2, you need to install the integration services after you set up the operating system in the virtual machine.
    Also here is the note:
Microsoft support for Windows Server 2003 R2 with SP2 and Windows Server 2003 SP2 ended on July 14, 2015. So Microsoft support isn't available for issues you may run into when you use these operating systems as guest operating systems. Integration services for these operating systems aren't updated.

    Thanks for your time!
    Best Regards,
    Mico Mi
