SCOM MP migration issues

Hi all,
moving from SCOM 2012 R2 to SCM 2019 UR2.

While most things have gone ok, moving the custom management packs is providing to be exceedingly frustrating.

1) Some of the custom MP's have references to "old" MP's... such as ISA 2006 and Exchange 2010. I have deleted all the overrides i can.... but have one of two issues
a) There are still references to the MP in the custom MP's - these do not show up in the GUI - but i can see them when using MPviewer or exporting the MP to xml
b ) I cannot delete the override via the GUI - as the MP is sealed.... ignoring the fact that the override is stored in an unsealed MP!

Ive tried using methods like this - http://www.opsman.co.za/scom-deleting-a-mp-with-a-microsoft-systemcenter-securereferenceoverride-dependency/
after dumping out a list of all the rules, monitors and overrides using get-scomrule, get-scommonitor etc.

i am aware of all the posts about editing the xml and re-importing - but im having trouble with one MP in particular using that method.

Most of all, i spose im surprised that what is meant to be an enterprise management tool comes across as being unable to effectively clean out older MP's - as those products are removed from the environment..... am i missing something here ?
