User created personal account same netid and FQDN as our org - can't sign into teams

Hello, One of the users at our organization has created a personal microsoft account with the same netid and FQDN as that of our Org. To be more specific his ID is like JohnDoe@someplace.net and his organizational ID is also JohnDoe@someplace.net. What is happening now is that he is trying to sign into Teams using SSO. Teams hangs during the sign-in process. If anyone is able to check his account to ensure that he does not have two ID's that are the same in the MS data servers that would help us. I much appreciate any insight or advice anyone can proffer. Regards Andrew
