Hello Helpers,

A very wierd problem we are facing.

We have an instance of Windows 2008 r2 Datacenter vm running on a cloud provider. This VM suddenly freezes - No errors in Event Viewer also the Avg processor usage is less then 10%

a) Any idea what could be cause

b) we have not updated any hot-fixes or update as we were not sure if it would cause any issues. This is our production server with legacy applications. Unless we are 100% confident of this 2008 r2 would not have any challenges after updates are installed.

Thanks - hope to get some solution.

    Hello,

For the stuck problem, you could see whether the system is completely stuck, if it is completely stuck, the system will not record any information. When stuck, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to eject the task manager, if so, it is not completely stuck. You can usually check the event logs of the system and program to see if there is any crash information

If it is frequently stuck, you generally need to manually start the system crash to analyze the dump file. It is recommended that you try a clean boot first to eliminate the interference of third-party software services.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
