Broken SCCM

Hello.

At present we run in production System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager SP1.
It is a standalone primary site.

Some time ago, without first stopping any service, I temporarly moved away a few SCCM folders (under a shares used by SCCM).
After a few hours I moved those folders back in place, but since several things don't behave quite right.

1) Multicast doesn't work. Now I can only deploy OSs via unicast
2) Even when deploying OSs via multicast, some task sequence fails. My impression is that some packets referred to by the tasksequence are not found anymore

Can anybody please guide me through the debugging and fixing?
In parallel I'm installing MECM version 2002, but I would like to learn more by trying to fix the old one.

Thank you and best regards.
Roberto

    @Roberto

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

1.Have all these 270 been deployed? We need to redeploy the required packages, for example, the package we need to deploy to Machine.

2.If you've got valid backup of all content library folder (SCCMContentLib), it's possible to use pre-stage content to restore the content library without re-distributing all the contents. It's not required to keep daily content backup for DPs, instead keep backup for your site server database.

    Hi @Roberto ,

If you have moved a ConfigMgr content/folder without using the proper tool (content transfer tool), you may have an issue on a different features (DP, OSD etc).

What I suggest to you is to remove the DP, reinstall it again and configure the multicast. You can check distmgr.log log file for more details the DP status.

    Hello.

    Sorry for being late.
At present I'm back to SCCM and working on deleting unneeded packages. I understand I need only a fraction of those 270 packages.. So removal of the DP role from this server will take place only when I'll be done with the cleaning step.

If possibile I would appreciate help on fixing multicast.

Could somebody please help me out?

    Thank you.
