Migrate to Azure monitor agent from legacy agent

When I click on the Log Analytics workspace and click Settings | Agents I see my Windows computer connected via Azure Monitor Windows Agent and connected via Log Analytics Windows agent (legacy). How do I remove the Log Analytics Windows agent (legacy)?
When I go to the VM and click Settings | Extension + applications I see the following. There is no Microsoft Monitoring agent installed so I would assume that this VM does not have the legacy agent installed. Do I need to uninstall the Dependency Agent as well?

Since the Log Analytics Windows Agent (legacy) is seen within the "Azure portal" you could uninstall it directly from the VM.
Log in to the Windows VM.
Open Control Panel.
Click on Programs > Programs and Features.
Find the Microsoft Monitoring Agent (legacy).
Right-click on it and choose Uninstall.
The Dependency Agent monitors application connections and is different from the legacy agent. You only need to uninstall it if you want to stop tracking or if there are problems. If you’re switching to the Azure Monitor Agent (AMA), you can keep the Dependency Agent, as it may still be useful.
After uninstalling, back to the Azure portal and Open the Log Analytics workspace and go to Settings | Agents. You shouldn't see the legacy agent listed anymore. You should also check the Extensions + applications section in the VM settings to make sure the legacy agent is completely removed.
If you want to use the Azure Monitor Agent (AMA), you need to install and set it up for your Log Analytics workspace. The AMA replaces both the Log Analytics Windows Agent and the Dependency Agent in most cases.
