I'm being charged for classic ML Studio workspaces that I'm unable to delete

I have 3 old ML Studio workspaces that I'm not using. I have been unable to delete them but I'm being charged for them every month (I'm guessing I tried to delete them incorrectly in the past and left fragments behind). I currently have no other resources in Azure.

Question 1: When ML Studio (classic) retires on 8/31/2024, will these workspaces be deleted automatically (and the charges eliminated)?

Question 2: If not, any suggestions on maybe a brute force method to delete these workspaces? I don't need to save anything in them, I just want to eliminate the monthly cost. (FYI, I'm using a "Visual Studio Ultimate with MSDN" subscription which does not include a support option.)

Situation:

In the Azure Portal:

  1. In Cost Management, under "Cost analysis" / "Resources", it lists 3 classic Machine Learning workspaces, each costing ~$5/month.
  2. In the portal under "All resources", no resources are listed.
  3. In the portal under "Resource groups" / "Default-MachineLearning-SouthCentralUS" (the resource group that Cost Management shows for these workspaces), no resources are listed.
  4. In the portal under "Machine Learning Studio (classic)", no workspaces are listed.
  5. I deleted the resource group "Default-MachineLearning-SouthCentralUS", but the workspaces still appear under Cost Management, with this resource group listed.

In ML Studio:

  1. I can open each workspace but there is no "DELETE WORKSPACE" option under SETTINGS (as described in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/azure/machine-learning/classic/export-delete-personal-data-dsr?view=azureml-api-1#delete).
  2. Two of the workspaces each have one experiment and a web service. If I try to delete the experiment, it fails with the error "Experiment ... cannot be deleted because a web service depends on it". If I try to delete the web service, I get an error: "Service call failed. Error 404 (Not Found) when requesting /webservicegroups/..."

In Azure CLI:

  1. "az ml workspace list" doesn't list any workspaces.
  2. "az ml workspace delete" on any of these workspaces gives a ResourceNotFound error.
