I have installed the latest Az CLI package so I know that's not the issue. But when I run the script locally in Powershell, I can't get past this error: Write-Telemetry : Unhandled exception The term 'Invoke-AzRestMethod' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet,

function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the

path is correct and try again..

First, check if the Azure PowerShell module is installed by running this command to see if the Az module is there.

Install-Module -Name Az

If it’s not installed, you can install it like this:

Install-Module -Name PowerShellGet -Scope CurrentUser

After you install it, you may need to load the module manually:

Import-Module -Name Az

The Get-Command cmdlet gets all commands that are installed on the computer, including cmdlets, aliases, functions, filters, scripts, and applications. Get-Command gets the commands from PowerShell modules and commands that were imported from other sessions.

To allow maximum flexibility, most of the parameters for Invoke-AzRestMethod are optional. However, when you're managing resources within a resource group, you'll need to provide either the full ID to the resource or parameters like resource group, resource provider, and resource type.

Get-Command Invoke-AzRestMethod

If the module is installed but the cmdlet isn't working, you might need to update the Az module. Run this command:

Update-Module -Name SpeculationControl

After making changes, it’s a good idea to restart PowerShell or run it as an administrator. Run your script again after making sure the module and cmdlet are available.

Your PowerShell version needs to be 5.1 or higher to work with the Az module.
