How to add hidden secrets as user input

I am currently using a Jira API to retrieve jira issues in a prompt flow python node, but the user should only be able to retrieve jira issues which the user has access to, to achieve this the user should provide the username and password, but if I set this to user input in prompt flow, the password will be visible when using the prompt flow UI, can I set this field to display dots instead of the real value?

I have noticed that while adding a custom connection there is an option to mention as secret. Do you think this will help in hiding values? Other than this if you are using them as variables, they might be displayed in logs or UI to whoever has access.
