Why does my Wi-Fi keep disconnecting when going on a discord call or a game?

This has been happening for some time now (a few months ago), and my desktop would disconnect every time I go on a discord call or play a game. Usually, it takes about 10 minutes until it would start lagging for everything on the desktop and then a few seconds after that it would just disconnect me from the Wi-Fi, usually after it disconnects it starts stuttering even more. (I am on wireless connection by the way)

Can I please have help me on this, it has been really frustrating, and I have looked on other forums and found nothing.

I've tried:

  • Resetting my desktop
  • Restarting my computer (multiple times)
  • Resetting the cache
  • I unticked the 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'

    Hello,

For your problem, here are a few possible solutions and suggestions for you to try:

Check and optimize router Settings: First, ensure that the router is placed in a location with good signal coverage to reduce interference with the signal from obstacles. Second, use Wi-Fi analysis tools to select a channel with less interference to improve the stability of the connection. Finally, check and update your router's firmware to the latest version to fix possible bugs or security vulnerabilities.

Check and update network drivers: Visit the official website of your computer manufacturer or network adapter manufacturer to download and install the latest network drivers. If the problem persists after the update, consider rolling back to the previous stable version to rule out driver incompatibility or corruption.

Using a Wired connection Test: In order to determine whether the problem is caused by a wireless connection, it is recommended to try connecting the computer directly to the router using an Ethernet cable. If the wired connection is stable, there may be a problem with the wireless adapter or wireless signal that needs further investigation.

Scan for malware: Do a thorough scan of your computer with reliable antivirus software to ensure that no malware is running in the background and interfering with your network connection. The malware may tie up network resources or modify system Settings, causing an unstable Wi-Fi connection.
