Hi,

When selecting "Edit in Report Builder", a pop up appears with the message:

We're opening your report in Report Builder …
Did you run into issues? You'll need Report Builder installed on your computer.
Get Report Builder
Learn More

Report Builder then launches without issues. But the popup remains in the background, even after I close Report Builder. I have to close the popup manually. But subsequent attempts at selecting "Edit in Report Builder" also sees the same popup appear and has to be closed manually. So it doesn't just appear once.

Is there anyway to disable this popup, like in a registry setting etc?

There's another popup that appears upon "first" launch of Report Builder and the message is:

Connect to Report Server
This report requires a connection to the report server https://reportserver.com:443/ReportServer. You have not connected to this report server before. Do you want to continue?

This popup only appears once but is there also a way to disable it, like in a registry setting etc?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Closing the popup via the "X" button or left clicking in a blank space are equivalent "actions" … as in you need to have a manual action to remove it … both involves a one click action.

But the popup will reappear every time I edit a report which is very annoying. It isn't so bad if it actually followed Microsoft's explanation of this action:

"The first time you start Report Builder from the Reporting Services web portal or Reporting Services in SharePoint integrated mode, you're prompted to download it from the Microsoft Download Center."

But it doesn't. Its not "first time" but "every time" so from the 2nd time onwards, its no longer a "tip". Hence I'm trying to find a way to disable this popup. Must be some setting somewhere that controls this action eg, registry, config file etc, either client side or server side.

    Thanks.

    Hi @Terence Lau ,

I did some test locally and didn't find a nice way to meet your requirement.

In addition, you don't need to close the popup window through the cross, you could left-click in the blank space, the popup message will disappear.

The popup message is used for kindly tip.

    Regards,

    Zoe
