Why basic load balancer has no metrics ?

Is it possible to justify that why Basic load balancer does not provide monitoring of metrics. Is it due to pricing. Should I upgrade to Standard load balancer in order to get the monitoring of metrics. If so is there any particular reason.

Since, basic Load Balancer is provided at no cost, it does not come with all the features and hence does not support metrics as of now. If you would like monitoring metrics, you should upgrade to standard load balancer. You can also refer to this comparison list for SKUs for further details.
